Direct Connect - Understanding and Getting to Know the Holy Spirit - Pastor Dean Sweetman

Direct Connect V2.0
Pastor Dean Sweetman

"After walking with Jesus for twenty years, with all the ups and downs, I have come to realize that it is the Holy Spirit that truly keeps me walking the straight and narrow. The Holy Spirit was there in my darkest hours to encourage me and fill me afresh with the presence of God. I felt sustained many times by that awesome presence. Likewise, while atop my greatest achievements and peaks, I have felt that same presence. It never changes, He is always there to fill the gaps and bring whatever is needed in any situation.

I know beyond any doubt that the Holy Spirit truly desires to lead us into the fullness of our destinies. A Spirit-filled life is the most wonderful adventure you could ever live. As we develop our awareness of the Spirit through prayer and meditation, we will surely reach our full potential in God and as a result we will make a mark on this earth as we build His kingdom."

Salt and Pepper - You Go Together - Pastor Dean Sweetman

Salt and Pepper : You Go Together
Pastor Jill Sweetman

God loves marriage and wants great marriages for us. It is not His intention that we experience failure. We worship a God that believes in marriage - and in us.

Salt and Pepper: You Go Together is a compilation of twenty years of thoughts and experiences concerning marriage. It has a relevance and openness that is needed for any marriage in the 21st century.

Within these pages are the principles and practical instruction that will give you the foundation for a vibrant and successful marriage.

"I believe that there is so much more to marriage than just getting married. Even though we may not achieve what we expected to on our wedding day, marriage is extremely rewarding. Believe and know that as we focus on our God we see only in part, and that His vision is bigger than ours - for our lives and our marriages."

Move - You Move, God Moves - Pastor Dean Sweetman

Move : You Move, God Moves
Pastor Dean Sweetman

"I wrote this book so people could have a better life. As a pastor, I get to see many people in many different life situations. Most of the time people are either unhappy, or at the very least, discontent with their lives. There is a better way. Living a well-balanced life that puts God first while addressing all of life’s basics will ultimately give us the life we are dreaming of, the life we deserve.

"Having a great life is not easy. Take the Physical and Health part of life or the Family and Home life, for example. They require constant attention and maintenance if we are going to keep these areas of our lives flourishing. It can
be done.

"The power of compound is an amazing thing. Starting small and building upon past successes over and over again eventually produces extraordinary results. The Finance and Career area demonstrates this very clearly. Money saved now doesn’t seem like much. But when it is saved and invested over a period of years, the compound effect multiplies a small amount that eventually becomes very big. This is true for all areas of life. Investing in our relationships now pays off very big later on when we have had
the same relationships over decades and have benefited from the richness they provide.

"This is not a book you read once. It has been designed to be kept close and to motivate you to constantly work on the areas that need it and maintain the areas that don’t. In many ways I designed it to be like a life coach that could be carried in your pocket or handbag. I know these principles work because I have put them into practice over many years. While my life isn’t perfect by a long stretch, I can honestly say that I am living the life of my dreams and have a contentment and peace that only comes by investing in the life God has so graciously given me. With some focus, persistence and hard work you can too."

Little Shakers

Little Shakers : Parenting in the 21st Century
Pastor Jill Sweetman

"This book is not meant to be a list of to do’s or not to do’s at certain stages of our children’s lives, or the parenting manual we all wish we’d had when our children were born. Rather, it is a reflection of discoveries about parenting that I have had over the course of raising my own children. In this book, I share various personal fears and dilemmas that I have experienced in my own life, and highlight how our internal fears can affect our families and our children. I have also punctuated my writing with great parenting stories from people that surround my life. None of us have experienced everything that one can in life and I have included these stories to shed a little more light on specific situations that parents face each day. These stories come from moms who have raised their children alone, blended families and moms and dads who are raising great children while still working full-time.

"Parenting is an adventure. Although part of being parents is having the responsibility to be “grownups”, I have found it is also necessary to remain flexible. As much as our children are required to mature, so must we mature with them. We need to be open and willing to learn. Our children are growing up in a world that is much different than the one we knew as children. We cannot stick our heads in the sand and just shake a finger at it. We need to be a part of this world, understand it and be relevant to it so that we can stand, hear and direct our children into great futures. We cannot live from a place of fear, but must fully accept that God has planted our children in this world to carve a path through it. After all, isn’t that what we want for ourselves? Success, adventure, love and acceptance?

"I hope that you enjoy the following pages, and can hear from my heart some of the valuable lessons and useful perspectives my experience has given me on parenting."
